AH re-opens public beaches  

The Township of Algonquin Highlandswill re-open its public beaches on Saturday June 13 and visitorsare asked to abide by physical distancing protocols. Township parks have been closed for nearly three months amid the COVID-19 crisis .

“Social distancing guidelines must beadhered to and provincial group size restrictions are limited to amaximum of 10 people unless they are from the same household”reads a press release from the township. While beaches will re-openplayground equipment located in parks with beaches will remainclosed.

The township's Haliburton HighlandsWater Trails which include back-country campsites will re-open tothe public on June 16.

“In accordance with recentlyincreased provincial group size regulations site capacity has beenincreased to a maximum of 10 people per site where site capacityallows for up to 10 people unless they are from the same household”the release reads. “Social distancing guidelines must be adheredto.”
