Sizzlin’ Summer Service returns to Haliburton

Unity and faith is at the heart of the upcoming multi-church event, the Summer Sizzlin’ Service.
This event returns after a three-year absence with the collaboration of area churches such as the Haliburton United Church, the West Guilford Baptist Church, the Lakeside Church, the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, the Lochlin United Church, the Ingoldsby United Church and the Minden Bible Church.
Harry Morgan, pastor of the United Church, is welcoming the public from any denomination and faith to attend this unique coming together of churches event at the bandshell in Head Lake Park on July 31 at 10:30 a.m. in Haliburton.
“Everyone is welcome to the Sizzlin’ Summer Service. We’ve waited three years! Come and enjoy beautiful scenery, a celebration of Christian unity and wonderful music. Come and catch the joy!” Morgan said.
He said this service hitting its 13th year is even more important than ever with how much division there has been in the world recently.

The itinerary for the service, which will last close to 1.5 hours, will include live music, both contemporary and traditional hymns and sermons, which will include newest pastor Shaun Turner from the West Guilford Lakeside Baptist Church.
The service will include a children’s component led by West Guilford’s co-pastor Amy, Shaun’s wife. The co-pastors have taken over the duties from retired pastor Brian Plouffe.
A collection will be taken at the service and donated to the Heat Bank Haliburton County and the Pregnancy Care and Family Support Centre in Haliburton.
Instead of a rain date, this event will move indoors to the Lakeside Church.
