The total fire ban that has been ineffect for the townships of Haliburton County has been lifted as ofWednesday Aug. 17.

Fire risk remains at medium and the nodaytime burning regulation remains in effect for the townships ofMinden Hills Dysart et al Algonquin Highlands and Highlands East butbonfires and fireworks are once again permitted after dusk.

The ban was lifted after significantrain in the county during the weekend and early this week.

Residents are reminded to remainvigilant and be careful when discarding cigarette butts matchesetc.
