Bring your plastic milk bags to the food bank

To the Editor

What to do with plastic milk bags – the ones that hold three litres of milk and are sold in every grocery store?

Bring them to the Food Bank where they will magically turn into eight-by-four sleeping pads to be given to people who are forced to sleep on bare ground or perhaps the bare floor. Biting insects avoid the layer of plastic the pads are washable and easily transportable.

And not only that but each pad keeps more than a thousand bags out of the local dump. There is no necessity to subject this idea to scrutiny by a political entity or task-force or committee of the whole unless of course some of those officials want to take part in learning how to make good use of garbage litter.
