To the Editor,

I
want to express my support and admiration for the letter to the editor
by Fay Martin. This is looking at the arena from the point of view the
council looked at the feasibility of a swimming pool and concluded this
is not a possibility. 

I remember asking
a council member if Minden really needed an arena. The answer was that
the Haliburton arena does not have enough time for both townships’
hockey players. There was no time for discussion, but my question still
stood “can Minden afford a hockey arena and does it need one.” The fact
that some council members have been re-elected does not mean that there
is full support for an arena, by now the council should know there is
not.
