Charges laid in multiple break-ins


Membersof the Haliburton Highlands detachment of the Ontario ProvincialPolice have charged three men in relation to a number of break-ins.


BetweenJan. 20 and Feb. 11 the OPP received reports of break and entersthroughout Minden Hills.


A total of six residential garages twobusinesses and two vehicles were broken into where the suspects stolechainsaws power tools and money.


During the course of theinvestigation police determined that the break-ins appeared to havebeen committed by the same suspects.


Asearch warrant was executed on Feb. 12 and police recovered some ofthe stolen items.


Asa result of this investigation a 24-year-old Minden man was chargedwith breaking and entering possession of property obtained by crimeunder $5000 and mischief under $5000.


A 28-year-old Minden man wascharged with three counts of break and enter three counts ofpossession of property obtained from a crime under $5000 and onecount of possession of property obtained from a crime over $5000. Athird man 59 years old from Minden was charged with possession ofproperty obtained by crime under $5000.


Allthree are scheduled to appear in Minden court on April 6.
