A year-round home near Moore Falls was destroyed by fire during the weekend.
The call for the blaze came in about 5 p.m. on Sunday Feb. 14 Minden Hills fire chief Doug Schell told the paper.
Minden Hills has a shared services agreement with the City of Kawartha Lakes.
“The call came from them” Schell said adding that firefighters from three or four stations in the City of Kawartha Lakes attended the blaze.
While the residents were home at the time there were no injuries Schell said.
Minden Hills firefighters were on scene along Buller Road until about 2:30 a.m. The extreme cold did affect some of the equipment.
“Weather creates a nuisance sometimes” Schell said.
It’s believed the fire started in the home’s furnace.
