The Bag Ladies are back and they want your soap toothpaste toothbrushes deodorant combs brushes creams shampoo lotions and potions kleenex sanitary products shaving cream nail care stuff gum and so on.

Well not yours specifically.

“Anything that you can find in your purse or travel toiletry bag” says organizer Diane Dawson.
The Bag Ladies were formed last Christmas Dawson and her friends wondering what they could do to help augment the activities of the Minden Food Bank.
Someone had mentioned more toiletries could be useful. Someone mentioned she had a bunch of bags she never used.
So the women gathered toiletry items  packing them into purses and handbags and delivered them to local women’s shelters and food banks.
They delivered more than 100 of them in the past year and are at it again.

The Bag Ladies will be packing bags on Wednesday Oct. 12 starting at 10 a.m. at Dawson’s Wintergreen Maple Syrup and Pancake Barn in Gelert.
However the women are putting out a call for items now. Anyone with toiletries or handbags they would like to donate can drop them off at Wintergreen at any time or call Dawson at 705-286-3202.
