The Township of Minden Hills is opening a Cooling Centre at the SG Nesbitt Memorial Arena (55 Parkside St., Minden) in the Lobby area, on Monday, June 23 to Wednesday, June 25, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
During a high heat alert, the public are reminded to:
- Drink plenty of fluids.
- Dress in cool, loose clothing and shade your head with a hat or umbrella.
- Rest frequently in shaded areas.
- Never leave infants, children, or pets in a parked car.
- Check regularly on family, friends or neighbours who are at higher risk of heat-related illnesses and who do not have air conditioning.
- Seek shelter indoors or in the shade.
Residents / visitors may also visit the Haliburton Library Minden Branch (176 Bobcaygeon Rd., Minden) during operating hours. The Library is open Tuesday, June 24 and Wednesday, June 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. visit their website for complete hours of operation https://www.haliburtonlibrary.
