The Save on Hydro workshop coming to the county Sept. 8 plans to give some residents $30 in order to teach them ways to lower their energy consumption and hydro costs.
The workshop which will be delivered by Heat Bank Haliburton County in partnership with Haliburton Solar and Wind is free for anyone who wants to learn more about Ontario’s hydro system.
Due to a sponsorship from Haliburton Solar and Wind up to 15 residents in the county can receive a $30 participation grant for attending the workshop meant to offset the cost of attending.
Participants are eligible for the grant if they are either low income (LICO-AT plus 15 per cent) or struggling with hydro costs along with a referral from an agency or government program deeming that the household would benefit from the workshop and require the $30 in order to participate.
The workshop will run from 1-3 p.m. Sept. 8 at 1067 Garden Gate. Pre-registration is required in order to be eligible for the $30 grant and can be done by phone at 705-306-0565 or online at https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/save-money-on-your-hydro-tickets-36962085593.
