MH council cost $168K in 2017 

Minden Hills council cost just more than $168000 to operate last year.

Councillors accepted a report on their remuneration and expenses for 2017 during a March 8 meeting.

Mayor Brent Devolin was paid just more than $27000 used about $1000 in benefits charged no travel expenses and had conference fees of about $1600 for a total of just under $30000.

Deputy Mayor Cheryl Murdoch was paid just less than $22000 used about $3400 in benefits and had no travel or conference expenses for a total of about $25200.

Councillors Jeanne Anthon Lisa Schell. Pam Sayne Jean Neville and Ron Nesbitt were each paid approximately $18500 for the year.

With benefits travel and conference expenses their respective approximate totals were Anthon  $23300; Schell $19600; Sayne $25000; Neville $22000; and Nesbitt $22800.

The township’s five-member committee of adjustment cost approximately $5400 in combined remuneration and travel expenses.
