On Wednesday Dec. 9 officers from the HaliburtonHighlands OPP were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision involvinga moose. It occurred on Highway 118 at the Muskoka border atapproximately 5 a.m.

TheHonda Civic was westbound when a moose entered the roadway and wasstruck. The car sustained severe damage and was located in thenorth ditch by a passerby.

Thelone male occupant was deceased at the scene. Dead is MichaelJackson 69 of Algonquin Highlands.

TechnicalTraffic Collision Investigators from the OPP attended along withparamedics and fire department members from Bracebridge.
