Rotary Club recognized for commitment

The Rotary Club of Minden has received two honours for their commitment to Rotary International ideals. We were the No. 1 Club in our district of 42 clubs. As well Minden Rotary was one of only one of 2253 clubs worldwide to attain status as an 100 per cent Rotary Foundation Sustaining Member Club. As members of Minden Rotary all active members personally contributed $100US or more to the annual fund. Also Minden Rotary was one of only 4609 clubs worldwide to become 100 per cent Foundation Giving.

The Rotary Foundation is an international philanthropic fund which supports such items as the eradication of polio local and international grants to build water systems equipment for eye and dental clinics and hospitals educational opportunities including Peace Fellowships disaster relief wheelchair distributions and school builds. This foundation has recently been given the highest rating by “Charity Navigator” an independent charity watchdog and “Outstanding Foundation” for 2016 by the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

The awards received by the Minden Rotary Club would not have been possible without the dedication of all our members. We currently have 16 members but are actively looking for more members Individuals wish to be involved with making no only our community of Minden but the world a better place.
