On Tuesday Nov. 3 at approximately 2:55 p.m. members from the Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police were called the scene of a crash involving a single aircraft.
Haliburton County Emergency Services and the Algonquin Highlands Fire Department were also on scene.
Investigation revealed that the a small two seater aircraft was attempting to take off from the Stanhope Airport when it struck some trees and crashed into a bush area off of Canopy Lane.
The male pilot suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and his male passenger suffered minor injuries. Both were transported to the local hospital by Haliburton County Emergency Medical Services.
The OPP assisted the Transport Safety Board with the investigation.
