When a council has the courage to raise taxes during an election year you know it is out of necessity. I applaud them. Yes I live on a lake my choice. My late husband and I bought my parents’ home 25 years ago when lake property was affordable. I live on a fixed income and my taxes are high.

When my home needs repairs I dig deep find the money and have the repairs made. Minden Hills has reached that point. Now is the time to do those fixes!

We need those road repairs now snowplowing and sanding so we can get to our cottage roads allowing emergency vehicles or police to reach us in times of trouble. Our taxes pay for this! They also pay for our arena community centre cultural centre and all other amenities we lakers can enjoy.

Avail yourselves of all Minden Hills has to offer and you will see how your taxes are spent. Let’s work together to get Minden Hills back in shape.
