The HHSS Wrestling Team returned to the mat on Feb. 8 to compete at the Uxbridge Secondary School Wrestling Tournament. More than 250 athletes from the COSSA and Durham regions attended the event. This competition was intense.

Fifteen wrestlers represented Haliburton at the tournament. The veterans of the team were competitive.

Matt Manning Aidan Coles and Hannah Riopelle remained undefeated throughout the day and returned home with gold medals. Nic Graham Emily Klose and Noelle Dupret Smith earned silver medals.

Wrestlers are preparing for their respective regional championships in the next two weeks. The final league tournament on Feb. 15 at I.E. Weldon Secondary School is open to all wrestlers in the region and will seed the athletes for the COSSA Wrestling Championship which is hosted by HHSS on Feb. 22.
