A picture-perfect day was the setting for the participants in the annual Help A Village Effort Walk for Water event on Tuesday, June 19 in Minden. The walk started at the Haliburton County Public Library’s Minden branch and went around the river along the Minden River Walk path until it ended back at the start./DARREN LUM Staff 
With Ron Reid, the HAVE chairman at the back, participants for the annual Walk for Water event cross the town bridge, spanning the Gull River. Thousands of dollars are raised from walk events held all over the country from the west to the east. The Minden-based charity has been responsible for installing 20 to 25 drinking wells a year in undeveloped communities around the world.
